Name: Jessica Location: Wichita, Kansas, United States Gender: Female
Interests: Cuddling with my husband, the twins and Elijah (my kitty), playing with Ally & Caitlyn, changing diapers, chasing Caitlyn & Ally, preparing a meal for the twins, preparing a meal for Josh, cleaning up the twins after a meal, washing anything within a 15 ft. radious of the twins after eating a meal, changing diapers again and the viscious cycle continues to repeat itself over and over and over! But I love them all and it is totally worth it! Expertise: I am now an expert at changing diapers, packing up two babies for a trip almost anywhere, flying on an airplane with twin babies (We have traveled 3 times on an airplane with the babies)! I can change directions very quickly at the grocery store when I see someone getting too close to our personal space and keeping us from grocery shopping, {YES THEY ARE TWINS, NO THEY ARE NOT LITTLE BOYS ( they are wearing pink),DO YOU REALLY NEED TO KNOW THEIR AGE? THEY'RE BABIES.} - (I do think it is okay for other parents of multiples to ask some of these questions.) We can go grocery shopping - with both girls - in 45 minutes or less and so much more than anyone cares to hear about. (If you are dieing to know more just ask!) Occupation: Retired Industry: Other

| So, usually my life consists of changing diapers, making milk cups, giving kisses to ouchies, brushing out tangled hair, making meals, forcing down meals, cleaning up meals, and i think you get the point. But occasionally I am thrown curve ball. Actually, I think I get at least one curve ball a day. Over the past couple of months I have had to clean up more poop than any one person deserves to clean up. Ally has continued to believe that she is Houdini as she can get all of her clothes off including her diaper in just a matter of seconds. Only she rarely gets caught in the act because she is so swift. But beyond her obsession with streaking, she has learned what great finger paint your own poop makes!! We do want to encourage her creativity but there is a point where I the Janitor MUST draw the line. We have now gone a few weeks without a poop escapade. I can only hope that this will be a permanent change to our arts and crafts schedule. Today, however, I opened the bedroom door to a new terror that struck my heart to the core. Our precious little Caitlyn was covered in blood! She had blood pasted from ear to ear and just pouring out of her little nose. All I could think was what could have been used against her cute little pumpkin nose to make it bleed in such a way? Well, it took quite some time to get her all cleaned up and I have been wiping her still bleeding little nose all day! She has had a pretty bad cold this week and I guess that is what caused this heart breaking episode. I never expected nose bleeds to be this dramatic or start this early so be prepared if it happens to your little ones!!
On a side note: Our doctor informed us this week at the girls 2 year check up, that prolonged use of a sippy cup could promote a speech impediment. We are now switching to cups with straws!

| I've decided that I do not really care for technology. Josh has been having issues with his phone for a couple of weeks now. We decided that it wasn't a huge deal considering we shared a plan and we are almost always together so we could share my phone. This wasn't as big of a sacrifice as I thought it was going to be. I usually can't get to my phone in time to answer it anyway so it was almost a blessing to not have it. The downside was that I couldn't call Josh while I was out but it's not like I am out of the house everyday. Well, a couple of days ago, My phone did the exact same thing that Josh's phone was doing. So my husband was patient with the people from Verizon wireless while he spent close to an hour on the phone with them. They concluded that there was nothing they could do other than sell us expensive phones or give us a discount if we signed another two year contract. You see, they have updated their service here in Wichita and our phones could not handle the upgrade so clearly it was our fault when the phones quit working. Why shouldn't we keep up with technology and buy a new phone every three months? I think we could do it. All we would have to do is cut the twins back to one meal a day ( not a big deal considering they are already in the 3rd percentile for their weight), we could quit feeding Eli ( our kitty) all together and he could enjoy a buffet of flies and dust bunnies, We could kill a few birds with one stone by not adding to the ozone layer issues & not buy gas for our car & to make things even better we could push our car wherever we are going - GREAT EXERCISE!! The Flinstones are coming back! We could sell the 1,689,842 stuffed animals the girls have received in the last 14 months, the list goes on & on. . . OR I COULD JUST ENJOY THE FACT THAT IT IS a blessing!! It's one less thing I have to charge, carry around in my purse, & keep the girls from putting in their mouths. & I don't have to worry about it ringing while the babies are taking a nap. And the list goes on! Sadly, It is not possible for me to call friends and family while I am in the car. I should just learn how to use ESP and then I could just send my brain waves / thoughts to people I want to talk to. I know we are Digressing in this world of technology but it is nice to be less dependent on one more thing of this world.
Now that I have told you this sad tale, I must send a shout out to our Verizon buddies in Louisville, Kentucky. . . You are great guys but in the end, I HATE VERIZON! If you have any questions about my story or you think of anything else we can get rid of or sell in order to be more up to date with the technology of the times, please leave them as comments. They will be greatly appreciated. And to all you Verizon lovers out there, my heart is saddened for you. . . and to Verizon - You will not be missed.

How many days will go by before I pray? There is no telling. I tell myself it's ok. But it's not. Being a mom has a lot of "perks." When I am home with the girls, I have a million and one excuses as to why I do not get the things done that I intended to do the day before. Sometimes this excuse comes out to easily and sometimes it is used to cover my own laziness. I do not want to use excuses anymore. I want to enjoy my children. I want to HAVE my prayer time. With accountability I can do that. Please hold me accountable to having prayer time everyday!! Psalm 32 Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, Blessed is the man whose sin the LORD does not count against him and whose spirit is no deceit. When I kept silent my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer. Selah Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD" - and you forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah Therefore let everyone who is godly pray to you while you may be found; surely when the mighty waters rise, they will not reach him. You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with deliverance. Selah I will instruct you and teach you in the way that you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you. Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understandingbut must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you. Many are the woes of the wicked, but the LORD's unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in him. Rejoice in the LORD and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart! -I found this passage helpful today as I have been struggling with these things. I do feel like my body is wasting away when I am not praying and in the word. Isn't our God so good that he can look at us and no matter how filthy & dirty we are he sees us as clean! God can & will deliver me from my sin. I take comfort in that. CUTEST BABIES EVER!!!!!! | | |
